Telugu star Mohan Babu honored and awarded in British parliament

London, May 13 (UITV)- Telugu Superstar Dr. Mohan Babu was honored and awarded for his contribution to the Indian film industry in the British parliament.

The event was organized by Asian Lite, a prominent newspaper for the Indian community in Britain, as part of their 10th anniversary celebrations.

Mohan Babu, popularly known as the Dialogue King of Telugu cinema was honored with Pranam Award by Asian Lite newspaper for his contribution to Indian cinema industry. At the occasion, his book “Best Dialogues” was also released.

Bob Blackman, Conservative MP from Harrow East and Virendra Sharma, Labour MP from Southall, jointly presented the award to 66-year-old actor. This is the first time British parliament hosted an event to release book in Telugu language and written by a non-British author.

Dr. Mohan Babu, the most prominent star of South India, arrived at the British parliament along with his wife Nirmala, sons Manchu Vishnu, Manchu Manoj and daughter Manchu Lakshmi. The event was also witnessed a call from the Telugu diaspora urging Mohan Babu, a former Rajya Sabha member from the Telugu Desam Party, to return to national politics.

Dr. Sekhar Vemuri, a prominent member of the Telugu community, said Mohan Babu can channelize several projects to Andhra Pradesh through his influence in Delhi.

Pranam Award was instituted by Asian Lite to honor prominent members of Indian diaspora for their contribution to various sectors.
